• To preserve and advance blacksmithing and metal arts education in the Kootenays, through high-quality hands-on education, community access, and sustainable, stewardship-driven operations. 

  • To provide an inclusive and accessible learning ecosystem of opportunities for learning blacksmithing and metal arts. 

  • To elevate and expand the pedagogical legacy of the Kootenay School of the Arts metals department. 

  • To be an active participant in ongoing conversations around the development of contemporary craft practise and the industrial arts. 

  • To create opportunities for collaborative works, community building and partnerships with artists, craftspeople and arts organizations.
